McLaren 2013 like Ferrari 2012

The managing director of the McLaren Jonathan Neale takes stock of the situation a few days later Spanish Grand Prix on stage over the weekend and sets the fundamental objectives: resolving those discrepancies between the data highlighted by the factory simulations and what actually happens on the track.

The start of the season was not the best, Neale is aware of this, but at the same time he realizes the importance of looking ahead and finding a solution to those problems which, according to the Woking CEO are very similar to the problems highlighted last season by Ferrari.

“The problems we have are very similar to the problems Ferrari faced last year. You think you've done enough over the winter, but when you take the car out of the simulation environment and take it to the circuit you immediately think that something hasn't been planned.", he told journalists at a press conference.

“Over a period of time you optimized a number of things about the car but that was a false premise. Phase one is finding that false premise and understanding how it crept in, phase two is erasing everything you subsequently curated and optimized around the car – continued Neale -. Of course, in the first European race, all the others are also bringing updates and our progress will be measured on the basis of what our opponents do.
