F1 | Lammers on Hamilton's renewal: "Lewis is at a disadvantage"
“He has had the chance to drive the best cars for the last five seasons,” said the Dutchman
In a chat given to the newspaper "The Telegraph" Jan Lammers expressed his view on the long contraction between Lewis Hamilton , Mercedes for the renewal of the seven-time World Champion, highlighting how the latter, in comparison with Toto wolff, start from a disadvantaged position.
According to the Dutch Manager, the superiority shown by Mercedes over the last few seasons, combined with the super performance of George Russell in Sakhir Grand Prix, would have overshadowed the enormous talent of the British driver. An unexpected situation that would be "holding back" the world champion team from accepting the conditions put on the table by its top driver.
"I think that Lewis Hamilton is at a disadvantage." said Jan Lammers. “He has had the opportunity to drive the best single-seaters in the last five seasons and this, in my opinion, has significantly distorted any assessment of his talent. This could affect your negotiation with Wolff".
