Webber's "old" alternator survived in Monza

Mark Webber's alternator he survived the Italian Grand Prix and yet he was more "old" than that of Hag which instead was an evolution.

This is what was stated by Helmut Marko, after reigning world champion Sebastian Vettel suffered technical problems with his alternator during the race Monza, forcing him to retire.

“The component was a latest evolution and had the same problem in the Valencia GP,” Marko told Salzburger Nachrichten.

“Webber had an old alternator and had no problems,” Marko said.

Auto Motor und Sport reports that the engine supplier of Red Bull, Renault, has as its partner for alternators the Magneti Marelli, which is treating the problem as a priority.

“We have essentially changed almost nothing since 2011,” said Renault man Remi Taffin.

A bit of hope comes from the fact that the alternator used by Lotus by Jerome d'Ambrosio showed breakdowns similar to those of Vettel during the grand prix which could lead to the Renault to find out the causes of this problem.

However, Red Bull's problems are not the alternators, but the evident lack of pace in the last few grands prix.

The former pilot of Toro Rosso Jaime Algersuari he declared in Monza “the team hasn't been this bad since 2008”.

He had another problem Sebastian Vettel, who was penalized for having forced Fernando Alonso off the circuit, although it must be said that a similar situation at the Curva Grande had occurred a year ago with the roles reversed but had been ignored by the stewards (Alonso however had left space for the German's car even with two wheels on the grass ed.).

La FIA did he help Ferrari? “I don't think so,” Vettel replied laconically, thus shutting down possible conspiracy talk.
