Sutil: Force India will not repeat its 2009 performance at Spa

Force India is unlikely to be able to repeat its astonishing 2009 performance at this year's Belgian F1 Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps in two weeks' time. Last year Giancarlo Fisichella at the wheel of the Silverstone team car secured a place for Ferrari by obtaining pole position and second place in the race.

And two weeks later in Monza, his teammate Adrian Sutil qualified on the front row and finished the race in fourth position, setting the fastest lap.

In 2010, despite scoring 47 points and sixth place in the constructors' championship, Force India has lost ground to Williams and Sauber in recent races.

“Last year we had an incredible car, it was a big advantage,” said Sutil. “But it's an advantage we no longer have” added the German. “However we should be able to score a lot of points in the next races. We have a very good chance at Spa and Monza."

Sutil appeared less optimistic for subsequent races, especially due to delays in fine-tuning the blown air diffuser: “We need to update it, we're losing ground to the competition in that area,” he admitted.
