Google will have to pay a fine to Barrichello
di F1 editorial teamNovember 10, 2009
Rubens Barrichello has won the case against the internet giant Google. The official gazette of Sao Paulo has published a sentence according to which the veteran pilot will have to receive 500 thousand dollars due to false profiles bearing his name on a Google social network widely used in Brazil.
The value of the fine will likely increase, as Google will have to pay an additional $519 per day for each profile that continues to be online.
Most of the fake profiles make fun of the 37-year-old. In some the pilot is called “turtle.”
According to Brazilian newspaper O Globo, Rubens does not want to comment on the case, but his lawyer confirmed that the money will be donated to the Instituto Barrichello Kannan.
