F1 | Abu Dhabi GP, the verdicts: Raikkonen 4th in the Drivers' World Championship. Renault overtakes Toro Rosso in the constructors' rankings

The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix has issued the latest important verdicts regarding both world championship rankings.

Taking advantage of the retirement which occurred in the early stages of the race to Daniel Ricciardo's Red Bull due to a problem with the hydraulic system, Kimi Raikkonen managed to grab fourth place in the Drivers' Championship by getting the better of the Australian - who before the Abu Dhabi race was enjoying 7 points ahead of the Finn – by five points.

Renault's overtaking of Toro Rosso in the constructors' championship also took place on the Yas Marina Circuit. The transalpine team, by virtue of Nico Hulkenberg's sixth place, put the arrow on the Faenza team which ended the Emirates race outside the points zone (Hartley 15th, Gasly 16th).

Felipe Massa, on the other hand, in his last career race in Formula One, finishing on the fringes of the points zone, managed to maintain his position in the world championship standings over teammate Stroll, only to be joined by Nico Hulkenberg, with the German taking 10th position in by virtue of the best placings achieved during the season.

Despite losing 10 points to Valtteri Bottas, winner of the Abu Dhabi GP, Sebastian Vettel ended the 2017 season in second place in the Drivers' Championship with a 12-point advantage over the Finnish Stella driver.
