Manor, Ocon: “Better feeling than the free practice in Mexico”
Wehrlein: "Freedom compromised by a mechanical problem"
Eighteenth and twenty-second positions for Esteban Ocon and Pascal Wehrlein in free practice for the Brazilian Grand Prix, the penultimate round of the 2016 Formula One World Championship. The Frenchman from Manor ended the day of free practice on the Interlagos track positively, immediately finding a good feeling with the MRT05. A different story however for the German, who was blocked in the afternoon by a mechanical problem.
Here are the words of Esteban Ocon: “The day was quite positive and the track is really beautiful. It is a short circuit but full of character. Really very interested. We did a great job with the car and the feeling is certainly better than in Mexico. We managed to find a good setting right away and we are working in this direction. Qualifying and the race will certainly be unpredictable with the rain forecast, but it is a weekend where we can certainly do well."
Here are the words of Pascal Wehrlein: “I had some problems today and free practice was heavily compromised. I stayed in the pits for most of FP2 and losing all that time wasn't good. It's not ideal but in the end these are things that can happen. We will try to resolve the problem and give our best in free practice three tomorrow morning."
