During the last Azerbaijan Grand Prix, the fourth round of this 2019 Formula 1 world championship, Otmar Szafnauer spoke about the negotiations between the teams and Liberty Media for the technical regulations in view of the 2021 season, highlighting how the discussions of recent weeks are bringing the hoped-for fruits, especially as regards the components to be standardized.

According to what was reported by the Racing Point Team Principal, in fact, the negotiations of the last few weeks are bringing the teams closer to a common agreement and the hope, precisely in this sense, is to reach a meeting point before the summer break, so as to have the first useful information for the factory development of the new single-seaters.

“There is a deadline on the 2021 regulations and I think we are getting close to it,” said Otmar Szafnauer regarding the negotiations ahead of the next regulatory revolution. “There are some outstanding issues, especially on which components will be standardized and which will not, but I think an agreement will be found soon.”
