The hope is to leave behind the retreats of the last weekends

Haas is looking for important points in the next British Grand Prix, the tenth round of the 2022 Formula 1 world championship. After the many reliability problems shown in the last race weekends, Kevin Magnussen and Mick Schumacher would like to return to fighting steadily for the top ten, an aspect that would allow the team to get back into the running for fifth place in the constructors' championship currently in the hands of Alpine.

“Silverstone is a traditional race and offers a fantastic layout,” said the Dane. “It is a classic circuit, technical and very fast, which is why it is always nice to race there. I can't wait to race it again. These cars are slower than those of the past, but on the fast corners of the English track they will still be very fast. They are very stiff and therefore the ride on the curbs, especially at Maggotts and Becketts, may be different. Overall I will be great to take on this challenge.”

Here are Mick Schumacher's assessments: “It's a fantastic weekend for the team, also because most of the families will come to visit, which couldn't happen last year due to Covid19. I will meet everyone and it will be nice to spend time with the whole stable. I have mixed memories of Silverstone, both good and bad, but nevertheless it's exciting to take on. From this moment on we will have a series of European races that will allow us to go from one circuit to another without too many hours of flight."

On the behavior of the new ground effect cars at Silverstone he declared: “These cars generate a lot of downforce in fast corners and therefore at Silverstone we could find ourselves dealing with slightly different behavior compared to past seasons. From my point of view driving in Maggotts and Becketts will be fascinating. Furthermore, porpoising should not play a key role as it did in the Baku weekend."
