Formula 1 | Alonso: “Aston Martin can reach the title in two/three years”

Intercepted by Auto Motor Und Sport, Fernando Alonso reiterated the great development work carried out in Aston Martin in the last two seasons, specifying how the common hope between him and the team is to reach the world title in the next two/three years.

Despite the difficulties of 2022, dictated by a car never really fighting for the top areas of the standings, the Spaniard has the utmost confidence in the potential of the technical staff at Silverstone, an aspect that is leading him to invest considerable energy in this new experience in Formula 1. Alonso, we remember, has already made his debut on the AMR22 in Abu Dhabi and will return to drive the same car in a Pirelli test scheduled for Jerez in a few days.

“I would have liked to have a title-winning car as early as 2023, but there was no room in the teams that can boast this,” revealed the two-time World Champion. “Considering the opportunities in the market, I would say Aston Martin was the best option. This is a team that in my opinion can reach the title in two/three years."
