Through the columns of his official social accounts, Daniil Kvyat spoke out against the choice to exclude Russian athletes from international competitions, underlining how sport should follow a totally different path than that of politics. As regards the conflicts currently underway in the easternmost area of Europe, however, Kvyat has spoken out against the military maneuver that is involving the Russian and Ukrainian people, specifying how the future of humanity should not be influenced by war and from violence.

“I really hope that peace returns to Ukraine and that all parties involved can find a solution by sitting at the same table and dialogue with respect,” wrote the Russian, Alpine's third driver for the 2022 Formula 1 world championship. “It horrifies me to see two brotherly nations engaged in this conflict.”

“I don't want military actions and wars to influence the future of humanity,” continued the Russian pilot. “I want my daughter and all children to enjoy this beautiful world. I would also like to underline and address all sports federations in the world, including the IOC, that sport should stay out of politics."

“Not allowing Russian athletes and teams to participate in world competitions is an unjust solution and goes against what sport teaches in principle: unity and peace,” he concluded.
