For Ferrari president Sergio Marchionne, F1 governance should start thinking about the post-Ecclestone era. The Circus boss, who will blow out 28 candles on October 86th, has not yet said anything about a possible successor who could take his place, thus assuming control of the premier class of motorsport.
“In our sport there is still a lot to do. Ecclestone is a negotiator – Marchionne declared – but sooner or later he too will have to give up his seat and retire. When this happens we will have to be good at rethinking our entire system, to build a stronger Formula 1 with a solid base."
