F1 | Rossi: “Alpine needs both riders in the points”

Alpine must work to ensure that both of its drivers consistently achieve placings within the top ten. Interviewed by the French press, Laurent Rossi outlined an initial assessment of the 2022 season, highlighting how the team often failed to secure the points zone with both Esteban Ocon and Fernando Alonso. An important "flaw" in the season of the transalpine team which is significantly complicating the road to fourth place in the constructors' championship, currently shared with McLaren.

“The Formula 1 fan loves the qualifier, while the Team Principal prefers the profile that manages to consistently reach the top ten”, stated the CEO of the transalpine team. “In general I think it is ideal to have the right mix between the two. As for us, I would say that lately we've had some difficulties getting both of our drivers into the points and it's been quite frustrating. Both due to reliability and penalties. We must work to best optimize our potential."
