Thursday statements

Sergio Perez (Force India): «I'm very happy to be here, I've been waiting for this race all season and finally now I'm here next to my people. Formula One is growing here and it's something I'm very happy and proud of, I hope to repay them with a good performance on Sunday. They say that racing at home makes you two tenths faster, I believe it and I want to give my best".

Esteban Gutierrez (Haas): «It's an incredible feeling to be here and see the atmosphere created by the people. I'm honored to be able to share this weekend with everyone who will watch us, starting with my family. For next season I am doing my best and I believe that the future is good, in any case there are strong opportunities that I am evaluating, so let's wait a little longer, that is two weeks".

Carlos Sainz (Toro Rosso): «It's already great to race in Formula One, as you race against the 21 best drivers in the world, perhaps the battle with Fernando was a bit of the icing on the cake. I've grown up watching him since he's been here, that is since 2003, I've seen all his races and last Sunday I knew I was in a position to be able to battle with him. I didn't have all the grip necessary to engage in a real duel, but I liked it a lot.".

Esteban Ocon (Manor): «I am very happy with the progress made with the Team in these six races. Together we have done a good job and although I have only arrived halfway through the season, which is not easy, I am satisfied. Mercedes directs my career, so all I have to do is concentrate on the remaining races and do my best. I don't know if I'm really interested in other teams at this exact moment, but it's natural that if I do well between now and the end of the season there will be opportunities for dialogue".

Nico Rosberg (Mercedes): “I would be worried that I wasn't human if I wasn't thinking about the title at this point, it's been a good season after all if I'm in this position. I'm happy to be able to battle with Lewis until the end and if there's one thing I need to do to give my all it's to focus on what's in my control. so all I have to do is win here in Mexico".

Marcus Ericsson (Sauber): «I think that after the acquisition of Sauber the Team is making progress in the right direction, starting from Singapore. It didn't go badly in Austin with a 14th place in qualifying and then a consistent race in 11th position. We thought we could even grab a point but then we had to give in due to tire degradation. The updates brought are working better and better and now we have to continue to do so and we need at least one point to be able to overtake the Manor, this is no secret".
