Thursday statements

The focus of the press conference was between Hamilton and Rosberg, who met face to face already in the press room. Just the two of them in front of the journalists. Below are their words.

Nico Rosberg (Mercedes): «I will give everything I have to finish the season with a victory. After the Brazil race I joked that I was taking it easy, race after race. But upon reflection, in the end it doesn't sound so crazy as an idea. I have to think of this like any other race. Doing well on a racing weekend is always a challenge. Nothing in this sport is easy, so I'll treat it as usual. I'll go out and do my best. I have good memories of this track, especially last year when I won. And then I have always managed to be competitive in Abu Dhabi, so I have every reason to be confident. And the closer it gets, the more excited I feel."

Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes): «It hasn't been a perfect season and now I find myself faced with some rather impossible statistics, independent of my best possible result. But I can't and don't want to give up. You never know what may happen – however unpleasant it may be. I'm looking at this weekend with the same approach as always. I want to win and I will give my all to finish the season as high as possible. I'm happy to have beaten everyone in Brazil. I'm happy that with the same car I beat Nico, who was driving as best as possible. And I'm happy that as a team we are continuing to make history."
