Thursday statements

Marcus Ericsson (Sauber): "I am fine thank you! It was a big blow at Silverstone, the following two days I wasn't feeling great but after going to Italy for treatment I received the right treatments to get back in shape. And I'm happy that the Team has found a new buyer. Our financial situation was no secret at all, we were unable to upgrade the car. Now we will see what future awaits us".

Felipe Massa (Williams): «For me Austria and England were two races to forget, we are trying to understand what didn't work to fix it. We hope not to suffer these problems further. This is not a track where we will be exactly competitive, but we want to get back into the positions that count and bring home points. We have brought several updates to the last few races and we are testing them a lot, we still need some time".

Sergio Perez (Force India): «As you well know, I am a lucky rider since I have several sponsors behind me. And obviously I will also have to talk to them to evaluate what will be best in the future, despite Vijay Mallya saying that I have a one-year contract with Force India. So I'm not alone and this summer break will help me decide. This weekend, however, will help us understand how close we really are to the teams we compete with in the championship.".

Carlos Sainz (Toro Rosso): «I'm happy that the Team renewed my contract so soon. I mean, Toro Rosso is a demanding team in which many young people play and I think mine is a good achievement. Now we need to focus on what we are here for, pure driving, moving forward as a team. And the fact that in 2017 I will be part of a Team that is constantly growing gives me hope, both for the chassis and for the engine, with the collaboration with Red Bull. And I feel ready for a more important seat".

Max Verstappen (Red Bull Racing): «I enjoyed the battles with Nico, both on the intermediate and medium tyres. I think the car was traveling well in both situations, in the wet we know we are a little stronger but even afterwards, on a dry track, you could notice its goodness. We have achieved a great result. It's about setup, if we find the right one we will be closer to the Red Bulls».

Nico Rosberg (Mercedes): "I accepted the penalty imposed on me, there was nothing to complain about. We must take Charlie's words literally (Whiting, ed) so… nothing, we look ahead and don't think about it anymore. I can understand the fans, now that we receive less information and are less in the hands of the engineers it can increase the tension in the race, more things can happen. I will try to win this weekend, like I always do. What if there are two of us playing for the title? You've seen Ferrari and Red Bull, they travel through ups and downs, you never know".
