Formula 1 | Russell and the podium in Barcelona: “We are working hard to get back to the top”

While waiting to take to the track in the Principality for the Monaco Grand Prix, the seventh round of the 2022 Formula 1 world championship, George Russell highlighted the great work that Mercedes is carrying out on the W13, specifying how the team is giving 110% to move back to the top of the rankings.

After the many difficulties experienced in the first five rounds of the championship, the world champion Scuderia managed to understand and partially resolve the technical problems of the single-seater, especially those relating to porpoising, the aerodynamic stall on the straight which until now has not allowed Mercedes to compete with the right heights from the ground, an aspect that helped the drivers take an important step forward in Barcelona.

“We are working hard to get back to the top and we deserve the podium we achieved in Barcelona,” said the Mercedes Englishman. “I am very satisfied with the fight with Red Bull and even if we finished behind them we can look at the glass half full, that is, the many points we brought home. The last laps were quite complicated, but fortunately we managed to get the car to the finish line. Everything went according to plan and we can look forward to the next rounds of the championship with optimism."
