F1 | Haas, a contact at the start "destroys" Magnussen's race in Barcelona
“The puncture ended my race,” said the Dane
di Roberto Valenti22 May, 2022
Due to a contact at the start with Lewis Hamilton and subsequent excursion on the gravel, Kevin Magnussen was unable to reach the points zone in the last Spanish Grand Prix, the sixth round of the 2022 Formula 1 world championship.
The Dane, despite the excellent pace expressed between Friday and Saturday, was unable to realize the potential of the VF-22 in Barcelona, losing important points not only for the drivers' championship, but also for the constructors' championship.
“I tried the attack on the outside of turn 4, but I had a puncture which effectively ended my race,” said the Dane. “The strategy wasn't ideal due to the accident on the first lap, but with new tires the race pace was quite good. We'll try again next time."
