F1 | Haas, the small load complicates the work of Schumacher and Mazepin in Mexico

Not an easy job on Friday for Mick Schumacher and Nikita Mazepin in Mexico City, scene of the next Formula 1 Mexican Grand Prix. Due to the low aerodynamic load of their respective cars, the drivers of the American team were unable to confirm the steps in progress shown in the last few rounds, an aspect that will have to push the team to optimize the set-up in view of today's sessions. Schumacher and Mazepin, we remember, finished yesterday's free practice in 16th and 19th position.

Here are Nikita Mazepin's assessments: “Very complicated conditions out there. In the first free practices it felt like we were riding on a city track and the presence of dust on the track didn't make my life easy, also because a lot of it got inside my helmet. Other than that I'm getting to know the circuit: the downforce is very low and we're using the Monaco set-up due to the altitude. We knew the difficulties we would encounter this weekend, but we are doing our utmost to improve the set-up."

“Overall it was a positive day,” continued Mick Schumacher. “In the second free practice session we resolved the problems of the morning and this led us to judge the day positively. We learned a lot and the track is fun to drive. It actually went better than I expected, especially in terms of car behavior. There is still a lot to do, but we will try to extract the maximum and be in the right place and at the right time."
