Ecclestone met with the Valencian government

Bernie Ecclestone had a meeting "private" with the president of the government of Valencia, Alberto Fabra.

This is what a Spanish newspaper states, furthermore the latter reports the possibility of an agreement between Valencia and Ecclestone for the alternation of Valencia with another event in the calendar (probably Barcelona) due to the economic crisis.

The EFE news agency reports that Fabra has been trying to negotiate the contract that obliges the city to host the race every season.

“There is a willingness to negotiate” announced vice president Jose Ciscar and “we are on the right path”.

He also planned “further meetings”.

In contrast to the rumors above, there are the statements of the GP promoter Facundo Garcia de la Cuadra, who announced that Valencia wants the race "forever".

But he also admitted that he is aware of the possibility of alternation.

“It's something we've talked about over the past few weeks. We'll see, that's what I can say at the moment."
