Wurz team manager of the new Superfund team

Former Formula 1 driver Alex Wurz has submitted an application to enter the 2010 world championship with a new team called Team Superfund. According to Autosport magazine, the former Williams, McLaren and Benetton driver will be the team principal of the new team financed by the Austrian entrepreneur Christian Baha, founder and owner of the investment company Superfund. The team cars will be powered by the standard Cosworth engine.

Superfund thus joins Prodrive, Lola, Campos Meta1 and Team USF1 in the list of new teams intending to enter F1 thanks to the introduction of the budget cap for 2010.

Wurz is reportedly considering a partnership with one of the current UK-based F1 teams. The partnership would include the subleasing of spaces, facilities and staff members for the period necessary to set up the new headquarters in Austria.
