F1 | Wurz promotes Saudi Arabia's commitment: "The project offers incredible opportunities"

Present at the final ceremony of the last Dakar Rally, Alexander Wurz spoke about the project that could bring Formula 1 to Saudi Arabia, underlining how all parties involved are doing their utmost to give the city of Qiddiya a slot in the calendar 2022. The Austrian, we remember, is part of the staff that is working on the construction of the facility, with the latter which would be built within an area completely dedicated to sport and entertainment.

A huge project on which the Arab royals are reportedly betting heavily, especially in terms of business and tourism (the area has already hosted the awards ceremony of the last Dakar. ed.). It should be noted that the project would not only be sponsored by Alex Wurz, but also by drivers of the caliber of Damon Hill, Romain Grosjean, David Coulthard and Nico Hulkenberg.

“Qiddiya's visionary project offers us incredible opportunities,” said Alex Wurz. “The idea is to create a real arena for drivers, spectators and fans who will watch the Grand Prix sitting at home. Qiddiya has all the potential to become the motorsport capital of the world."
