Vicky Chandhok: “New Delhi circuit will be inspected on September 1”

The head of Indian Motosport, Vicky Chandhok, father of the pilot Karun chandhok, insists the New Delhi track will be ready in time for the first Indian Grand Prix, due in October. The circuit will be inspected shortly, thus dismissing rumors that the Grand Prix would be moved to April 2012.

Rumors would have it Bernie Ecclestone have reserved a place for this race for April 2012, when it is very hot in India.

“I'm not happy with this choice, also because it's very hot in April. If we really have to run during that time, we will run. But you could go in March, October, November, December, when it's cooler."

The inspection is scheduled for September 1, and was previously postponed for logistical reasons.

“It was for purely administrative and logistical reasons. Charlie whiting he will visit the circuit in Korea at the end of the month and on his way back he will pass through Delhi and visit and inspect the circuit.”
