F1 | McLaren ready to confirm itself at the top also with the MCL38

F1 McLaren MCL38 – While waiting to get on track for the first free practices of the season, Andrea Stella spoke about McLaren's objectives for the 2024 Formula 1 world championship, specifying how the team and the drivers want to confirm the good things shown at the end of the last championship.

Despite the great level expressed by Red Bull and Ferrari in the three days of testing last week, the Italian engineer did not want to set limits for the world championship which will start this Saturday on the Sakhir track, also in Bahrain, highlighting how the MCL38 has all what it takes to offer great satisfaction not only to Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, young drivers looking for important results, but also to all the fans of the English team.

Stella and expectations for the new season

“The team can't wait to get back on track. Last week we had three productive days of testing, during which we were able to work with the MCL38 to optimize performance and surface any reliability issues ahead of the race weekend. We have collected a lot of data ahead of the start of the season here in Bahrain. The entire team worked tirelessly during the off-season to build the MCL38 and prepare us for the first race here in Bahrain.”

McLaren, fundamental development in an extra-large year

The season, we remember, will be made up of 24 races and McLaren intends to best develop its concept to reiterate its position at the top of the standings: "We have a long season of 24 races ahead of us and our objective is to continue to build on the trajectory positive that we established last season. Both Lando and Oscar have worked closely with their engineering teams over the past few months and come into this season prepared and ready to give it their all. We are unable to make predictions about our competitiveness, as the tests are always difficult to interpret, but we are ready to deliver our best performance."
