Formula 1 | McLaren, satisfaction with the result in Jeddah

La McLaren she took home sixteen points in the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, thanks to the fourth place of Piastres and to the eighth of Norris. The race was more complicated than expected, with the battle between the Australian and Hamilton still without any stops, which highlighted some problems in the MCL38, i.e. that of straight line speed. Not bad anyway, because the podium seemed out of reach, with Red Bull e Ferrari at the moment far from the Woking team, but there is certainly reason to be happy.

“We achieved an excellent result in Saudi Arabia – said Andrea Stella, McLaren team principal. Oscar drove great all weekend, making the most of Friday's qualifying and finishing the race flawlessly in fourth position, with close but clean battles. With Lando we decided to differentiate the strategy under the Safety Car, and with another neutralization or red flag interruption he would have benefited, it was worth taking this opportunity. Unfortunately it didn't work out that way, and so he lost a couple of places. However, he had a good race and brought home valuable points. We are aware that the fight will be on development this season. We are close to the podium, we need to continue to improve the car."
