F1 | Carey is open to sponsorships promoted by sports betting companies

During the last Brazilian Grand Prix, Chase Carey responded to the many criticisms from insiders regarding the possibility of sponsoring sports betting groups in Formula 1. With Bernie Ecclestone's farewell, in fact, a long-held chapter has reopened closed for years and years, given that 'Mr E' has never looked favorably on this type of sponsorship.

Liberty Media, on the contrary, seems favorable to this type of investment, so much so that it recently promoted a 100 million dollar sponsorship with ISG, a company that deals with sports betting. The declared objective, precisely in this sense, is to promote this world also within the Circus, while remaining within the limits set by the legislature.

Here are the words of Chase Carey: “It's clear that fans have fun and I think betting makes this world more interesting and exciting. Obviously we have responsibilities to respect and we aim to ensure that everything is done in a healthy way and with the appropriate tools of integrity. People can bet in sport today and so we believe we can provide interesting new ways.”
