Bernie Ecclestone could save the Nurburgring race

Organizers may be exempt from paying the annual fee due to the FOM

Bernie Ecclestone could save the Nurburgring race

As reported yesterday, the Nurburgring Grand Prix is on the verge of bankruptcy. However, the F1 boss Bernie Ecclestone could save the historic Grand Prix: according to some rumors, in fact, Ecclestone would have given the organizers his availability regarding a possible waiver of the tax to be paid in the event of delays in payments.

The Grand Prix should return to the F1 calendar next year in 2013, but due to major financial problems this may not happen, in fact there is a risk that the Nurburgring must leave its slot at the Hockenheim circuit which would therefore return to the calendar on a permanent basis.

However, the German newspapers reported, despite the not exactly comforting news, the news that “There could still be F1 races at the Nurburgring in the future.”

Reports have revealed that the organizers of the Grand Prix have made an agreement with Ecclestone not to pay the tax in 2013, thus the organization of the GP "will be able to return to bear the costs based on the revenue that will be received".
