Valentino Rossi rules out being able to replace Massa at Ferrari
di F1 editorial team14 August, 2009
Valentino Rossi reiterated that he was not offered to replace Felipe Massa at the helm of Ferrari and that he did not offer himself as a replacement. "It's really a shame not to see Schumacher back behind the wheel of Ferrari," said the Italian in the Czech Republic for this weekend's MotoGP race.
"In my opinion he could have fought for victory in his second race," he added.
Rossi, 30, in recent years considered a possible move to Formula 1 with the Maranello team but ultimately gave up.
"I've spoken a lot with Stefano Domenicali in the last few days about Schumi's return" we read on Tuttosport, "but I haven't received an offer. And in any case, I couldn't: I can't race motorbikes and F1 at the same time".
