Sauber: Gutierrez reserve driver in 2011
di Staff20 September 2010
Sauber has signed Mexican Esteban Gutierrez as a test driver and reserve driver for the 2011 Formula 1 season. The new GP3 champion has attended many Grands Prix this year in the role of observer for the Swiss team. Gutierrez will now be the reserve driver in all races next season and will test the Sauber C29 after this year's final race in Abu Dhabi.
“We are optimistic that he can continue to improve significantly,” said team boss Peter Sauber.
19-year-old Gutierrez added: “Formula 1 is my ambition, and I am really grateful to Peter Sauber for putting his faith in me and my abilities.”
