After a few appearances in the Formula E and in 'Indycar, the former pilot Clean e Haas, now he wants to return to compete in the world championship formula 1, thanks to the fact that he is now collaborating with Mercedes with simulator work.

At the moment, the only option available to the 27-year-old Mexican is Williams but competing for the seat next to George Russell for 2019 there are also: Esteban Ocon, Robert Kubica e Sergey sirotkin.

“I'm working very hard, I've prepared a lot this year, I'm very motivated. I've been working with Mercedes, a very professional team, on the simulator, doing different things, and I'm very positive about the future."Said Esteban Gutierrez.

When asked about the prospect of joining Williams, the only team with a place available, the Mexican driver praised the British team, admitting that “It is one of the most respected teams in Formula 1”.

He added: “I think they've had a tough few years, given the team and the people who work there, I'm pretty sure they can recover quite well”.

In 2016, when he raced for Haas, Gutierrez failed to score a single point, while his teammate Romain Grosjean he scored 29 points. Apparently, Gutierrez feels like he has unfinished business.

“I think I have a lot to give in Formula 1, and I'm very motivated for this. I have options, I'm here. At the beginning of the year I wasn't involved with a Formula 1 team and now I'm with Mercedes, which is one of the biggest teams in Formula 1 at the moment.".
