F1 | Red Bull, Albon on the Monaco Virtual GP: "It looked like bumper cars"

The virtual Monte Carlo Grand Prix was quite eventful. First of all, the rain in qualifying upset everyone's plans, leaving the drivers stunned, even the real ones, who have never, or almost never, driven in those conditions on the Principality track, neither in the real world nor on the virtual one. This time too, Red Bull has paired Alex Albon with a guest, we are talking about the Hawaiian surfer Kai Lenny. For him only a seventeenth position, while the starting driver of the Austrian team finished in fourth place after a bumper car race thanks to the raids (among others) of Gutierrez and Norris and clearly won by George Russell, his second consecutive success.

“It was a carnage race, the biggest I've ever participated in – Albon said. First of all, qualifying was in the wet, I made a mistake there, while as for the race, it was a real bumper car. I must have hit the wall about fifteen times, I turned around twice, but I still managed to finish in fourth place. I did not believe it! Some moments of the race were frustrating, but it was still good, I can't wait to race in Baku. Well done to Kai, he did a great job, he tried very hard. We had great fun".

“Fantastic experience – Kai Lenny said. I had a blast racing against the best drivers in the world, albeit virtually. I did my best, but in qualifying I was shocked by the rain! In the race, I had a fantastic start, but someone kicked me out and I found myself last. The experience was incredible, these guys are very fast and I hope I can improve and spend more time on the simulator to get closer to their level. It was a pleasure to be on the same track as them, fantastic! Aloha!”.
