Massa: “Race compromised at the start”

The Ferrari driver didn't get beyond 9th place in Hungary but is convinced that he will be competitive after the summer break

Ferrari number 6 suffers terribly at the Hungaroring and is unable to make up for the mistake at the start
Massa: “Race compromised at the start”

Felipe Massa finished ninth in Budapest in an absolutely anonymous race, in which he lost two positions compared to the start.

The Brazilian was not the author of any particular errors, but Ferrari in Hungary did not have the pace to be able to recover and in the end he was also beaten by Bruno Senna. “It was a race ruined from the start, when I made the wheels spin, perhaps due to the clutch overheating: there I lost those two positions which I was then never able to recover”, said the Cavallino driver. “On this track, overtaking is really difficult and even though, in some moments of the second part of the race, I was going faster than Webber and Senna, I couldn't have the slightest chance of overtaking them. So it wasn't a great race for me but, at least, I managed to bring home a couple of points."

But why didn't the Red team fight for victory on the Hungaroring? “At Silverstone and Hockenheim we had a competitive pace with the best, here it wasn't the same and this certainly made the whole weekend difficult”, explained the Paulista. “This first part of the season was certainly not very positive for me, but today I certainly feel better than at the beginning and, I'm sure, the second part will be better”. Then a word about renewal: “My contract? Until the situation is clear there is nothing to say. I'm focused on doing well in the next races, this is my first goal.", argued Felipe.
