Senna: “Fun race, it will be the turning point of the season”

The Brazilian achieved an excellent 7th place in Budapest

If Ayrton Senna's nephew amazes, in Hungary he disappoints Maldonado, who was punished by the commissioners for a contact with Di Resta
Senna: “Fun race, it will be the turning point of the season”

Bruno Senna was the surprise of the Hungarian GP: the Brazilian from Williams, always highly criticized up until now, instead put together a tactically excellent race, in which he outwitted his compatriot Massa, finishing 7th at the Hungaroring.

“Today was a good race, we pushed very hard and thanks to the strategy, it was tough especially because the track conditions and the weather were very different from what we expected”, explained Ayrton Senna's nephew. “I'm happy with the team and I hope we can continue this momentum. There were a lot of unknowns for me and it was difficult to keep the tires in acceptable condition because the temperatures were really high, but it's nice to start in ninth place and finish in seventh place. I think this is a turning point for us.". Senna even allowed himself to first keep Jenson Button behind, compromising his race, and then Mark Webber, who was unable to pass the Williams at the end. “The race was good, it was a fun weekend, but now we welcome the summer break as there will be a chance to rest before continuing to push in the second part of the season”, concluded the South American talent.

Pastor Maldonado, however, disappointed expectations, due to a penalty suffered for a wheel-to-wheel against the British driver of Force India Paul Di Resta. “It was a difficult race today. I had a bad start and lost a lot of positions which compromised our race from the start. It was difficult to keep up in traffic and then we also had to serve a penalty, a drive-through. I was at the limit with Di Resta when I locked the brakes and lost a bit of grip, but I was on the inside of the corner so there was a slight contact. We had to focus on tire management but at least we gathered a lot of information for the future. We haven't been as competitive as we have been in the past, but now we need to work hard to focus on the second part of the season after the summer break.", commented the Venezuelan.
