McLaren, for Stella the stability of the team is the key to success

Andrea Stella, main team McLaren, he has quite ambitious plans for his team. The goal is to fight on equal terms in the coming years with Red Bull, Mercedes and Ferrari, and possibly to return to being a winning team, as the legacy would dictate.

La McLaren it is one of the positive surprises of this 2023; after a very troubled start, Woking brought a completely revised car to the track, lifting itself often and willingly according to its strength on the track, and grabbing several podiums in the season, as well as the victory in the Qatar Sprint Race.

Andrea Stella, however, looks ahead, illustrating what the right recipe for winning is for him, giving the example of Ferrari from Schumacher's golden years. The keys to success for the Italian engineer lie in the internal stability of a team and continuity in work.

“The internal stability, the quality of the people involved, I remember this about that Ferrari, with some who gave up better salaries elsewhere to stay and create what was perhaps the strongest team ever – the words of the McLaren team principal reported by Autosport -. We lacked that stability and continuity in construction at Ferrari in the Alonso period, at the time it was a long journey that began in the mid-90s. The continuity in the roles of that team was fundamental and that is what I am trying to recreate in McLaren. We must be well equipped to compete in the coming years on equal terms with such strong teams. Marshall and Sanchez strengthen our organization chart, and we will appreciate their work in the long term, also with regards to the next regulations. But the current growth is thanks to those who are already working with us now, as well as the 2024 single-seater already under development. From next season we will see the fruits of our continuity of work. With the advantage of already being able to fully exploit our new infrastructures: the wind tunnel, the simulator and the production plants".
