Ferrari celebrating on the Valencia Circuit

The Ricardo Tormo Circuit in Valencia today offered the most awaited show by the Ferrari-faith motoring public.


In the context of the Finali Mondiali, the event which has celebrated the conclusion of the sporting season of the House of the Prancing Horse for eighteen years, the Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro Formula 1 took to the track together with some of the main protagonists of international Gran Turismo competitions to greet the over 15.000 fans flocked to the Spanish track. Fernando Alonso aboard a 375 1954 Indianapolis and Felipe Massa at the wheel of a 500 1957 TRC started an original parade, followed by a 1961 class California driven by the President of Ferrari Luca di Montezemolo and the President of the Banco Santander Emilio Botin. Closing the extraordinary parade of vintage jewels are three Ferrari Californias with on board the Ferrari CEO Amedeo Felisa, the third driver of the Formula 1 team Giancarlo Fisichella, the two official test drivers Luca Badoer and Marc Gené and Alvaro Barba, a young Home hero returning, together with his partner Pierre Kaffer, from winning the International GT Open championship. During the second part of the exhibition Barba and Kaffer then took turns driving one of the F430 GT2s brought to the track by the Piacenza team AF Corse, winner of the Drivers' and Teams' title in the Spanish International GT Open series, alongside three other top drivers. exceptions like Gimmi Bruni, Jaime Melo and Toni Vilander, standard bearers of the Ferrari team of Houston Risi Competizione and AF Corse in the prestigious Le Mans Series and American Le Mans Series championships. The final act of the celebratory event saw Felipe Massa and Fernando Alonso take to the track at the wheel of two F10s and Luca Badoer aboard an F60, to complete a few laps of the track and a simulated pit stop before the traditional souvenir photo together to all the protagonists of the intense four days in Spain and for a new final farewell to the cheering public.
