Hulkenberg: “We missed a good opportunity”
The Sauber driver finished qualifying for the Monaco GP 11th
“Getting into Q3 wouldn't have been impossible, given that I was only 6 tenths behind, but we changed the supersofts too late and we only had one timed lap available, so today was a missed opportunity”.
Nico Hulkenberg he narrowly missed out on the final part of qualifying for the Monaco GP. He finished 11th and with some regret.
“In changing conditions like those here in Monaco we can still be happy to have stayed out of trouble – declared the Sauber driver -. We are just outside the top ten, so we can choose our strategy for tomorrow and this is a positive aspect."
“A good start will be important, we should get the maximum, gain one or two positions and stay out of trouble at the first corner - has explained -. It's one of the most challenging races ahead of us, but I can't wait to start racing. Monaco has its rules and this is also why we like it a lot."he commented.
His teammate's qualifications were more disappointing Esteban Gutierrez who was unable to go beyond 19th position. Problems with the intermediates and difficulty finding grip. Tomorrow it won't be easy for the Mexican driver to face the race, he is aware of it, but he is convinced that “He will do his best and with a good strategy you can achieve something”.
