Formula 1 | Mercedes, Hamilton confident: "It will be a three-way fight for the title with Red Bull and Ferrari"

A few days before leaving for Montreal, home of the next Canadian Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton spoke about the world battle between Mercedes, Ferrari and Red Bull in this first part of the championship, underlining how the match, despite Daniel Ricciardo's big shot in Monaco, is still completely open. The Englishman believes that the levels at stake are extremely close and how this three-way challenge will continue for the rest of the season. Lewis, at least for now, thinks that Sebastian Vettel is the driver to beat, thanks also to the excellent characteristics of the SF71H, but he does not want to underestimate the development capabilities of Red Bull, the real strong point of the Austrian Scuderia over the previous seasons.

Here are the words of Lewis Hamilton: “It's clearly a three-way fight for the title, with Ferrari having a slight advantage over the competition. Despite everything, in fact, I consider the SF71H the best car at the moment. Their car performed well in Monaco and in all the first events of this championship. They have always been there, more or less close. If Red Bull and Ferrari hadn't encountered problems, we probably wouldn't be at the top of the championship standings."

On the next Canadian Grand Prix he added: “Red Bull should bring an engine evolution to Canada and it will be interesting to understand their level of competitiveness. I have no doubt that they will continue to grow over the course of the season, but it will be nice to find out what kind of performance they can pull off at a track like Montreal."
