F1 | Williams, seventh position for Albon: “Excellent reward for the team!”

It was the race of a lifetime for Alex Albon! The Thai concludes the Canadian Grand Prix in seventh position, with an overtaking sprint towards the checkered flag against the Alpine di Esteban Or with. A perfect weekend for Albon, who therefore achieved his best placing of his second life in formula 1 and also the driver of the day award. Points that represent a victory for him and the Williams, to seal an already memorable weekend thanks to the strategy in qualifying, which ensured the Thai entered Q3. The Grove team continues to grow, thanks also to this boy who continues to fight at every race, taking revenge on his first life in Formula 1.

“What a great weekend, I definitely have to thank the team for the updates to the car, I think they demonstrate the quality of our work, and what's more this track suited our package well – began Albon – the guys at the factory worked tremendously to prepare all components. We also have a new PU, so we gave everything this weekend. Qualifying had already gone very well, and what a race! Winning these points and ninth place in the drivers' standings is very nice, it's the right way to thank and reward the team for this hard work."

However, the race ends with a withdrawal Logan sargeant. The American had started well, but after a few laps he was forced to park his car Williams on the track.

“The start was excellent, our car had the potential to fight. There was theAlpha Tauri in front of me and I tried to apply pressure, I felt fast. Unfortunately, the team told me to stop the car due to some problems which ended my race. I learned a lot during the weekend, especially on the full wets, on the wet, and on the intermediates on an almost dry track. Honestly, I think we were quite fast in the dry. It didn't happen today, but I hope to redeem myself in Austria."
