New parts only on Magnussen's car, Steiner: "We had problems in the development phase but I'm happy"

Formula 1 | Haas, important updates for the Hungarian Grand Prix

With a confirmation coming through a press release, Haas announced that in the Hungarian Grand Prix there will finally be some important developments on the VF-22. Unfortunately, however, due to some problems in the production phase, only Kevin Magnussen will benefit from these innovations, while Schumacher will have to wait until he returns from holidays to be able to enjoy an advanced car capable of constantly fighting for the points zone, or at least this is the goal set by the US team.

“As many know, we waited a while before bringing updates to the track, because I think we still had a good pace – said Guenther Steiner, Haas team principal. I don't want to say exactly what it will be, we just have to wait and see what we can get from our evolutionary package. However, we were unable to bring the new features to both cars, so with Kevin ahead of Mick, he will be the one to test it first. Unfortunately we had some delays in the development phase, and for this reason we were forced to postpone everything from France to Hungary."

“Also with the spare parts problem we had at the beginning of the season, until the seventh/eighth race we were behind on production, so we don't have enough spare parts for both cars. Everyone at the factory worked very hard, both the team and the suppliers, to make sure this update arrived, so I'm happy to at least have it on a car in Budapest. We want to collect some data before the summer break, so that we can work on it carefully when we return from holidays, and if all goes well we can give Mick an advanced car too."
