F1 | Alpine, Alonso: “Happy with the arrival of a new update package”

The retirement in Monza was a flaw in Fernando Alonso's final part of the season. Due to this problem he had on his Alpine, the Spanish champion was unable to obtain his eleventh consecutive useful result, also because the car's performance was not up to the level of the previous races. In view of Singapore, the former Ferrari driver is determined to resume the path towards winning fourth place in the constructors' championship.

“The weeks we spent in Europe were intense – Alonso said. In the last three races we have scored 18 points thanks to the performances in Spa and Zandvoort, the car was strong and performed well. Unfortunately in Monza we were forced to retire, we were hoping to obtain the eleventh consecutive useful result, but the car wasn't as good as in the previous two races, so we did some in-depth analyzes to understand why. We hope to get back to our levels in Singapore: the whole team has worked hard on a new package for this race, so I'm happy to see what results it gives us."
