Force India, Hulkenberg: “It's a shame to lose Q3 by just a tenth”

Positive qualifying for Nico Hulkenberg and Sergio Perez on the Barcelona track. Force India managed to confirm yesterday's good performance, placing the Mexican in eighth position and the German in eleventh position. A good step forward compared to the very positive Free Practice 3. An important day, especially considering the pace shown during FP3, which will allow the Indian team to compete for the points in tomorrow afternoon's race.

Here are the words of Sergio Perez: “Happy with the result achieved in qualifying. This track has always been quite complex for us and so achieving this placing was a joy for the whole team. The potential of the car was quite good and we managed to complete an excellent lap. For the race I expect a points finish and therefore we will do our utmost to end the weekend in the best possible way. It will be important to manage the tyres, especially the softer ones, and strategy will play a key role in the race, especially in the central phase of greatest wear. I'm sure the team will be up to the task."

Here are Nico Hulkenberg's impressions: “It's always bad to lose Q3 by just one tenth, especially after the great work we did this weekend. On the other hand, however, eleventh place allows us to play with strategies and compounds during the race. We have brought a big aerodynamic step here to Barcelona and all in all the car is working quite well, so we expect a good race tomorrow. It certainly won't be impossible to reach the points."
