Franz Tost will remain in Formula 1 in a new role. The 67-year-old Austrian has been replaced as Alpha Tauri's long-serving team principal, by the new management duo of Laurent Mekies (ex-Ferrari) and Peter Bayer. However, Helmut Marko still wants to rely on Tost's experience and that is why he will remain in Formula 1 where he will consult for both Red Bull and AlphaTauri. A meeting will be held today to discuss the issue.
“Fundamentally, I will always remain linked to motorsport, so I can certainly imagine a consultancy role,” Tost told f1-insider.com, ruling out a future as a TV pundit.
