F1 | Seidl analyzes McLaren's 2022: “The reaction was very positive”

2022, which ended just under a month ago with the Abu Dhabi event, was a championship with two faces for McLaren. A very difficult start, where the British team struggled to fight for points, and a continuation of the season on the rise thanks also to the updates made to the MCL36 which allowed Woking to take fourth place in the Constructors' Championship.

Andreas Seidl, now former team principal of the English team, who will be the new CEO of Sauber from 2023, discussed the McLaren year.

“When I look back on the season I obviously haven't forgotten the difficult start we had in Bahrain, with the brake problems. Performance-wise we were not where we wanted to be in this new era of F1. We were practically at the back of the group."

“But obviously there are a lot of positives. I look at the team's reaction. I see how we reacted, I look at the developments of the car, which have put us once again in the position to return to the fight for fourth position against a very strong team like Alpine, it's something very positive."
