F1 | Renault, Abiteboul: “McLaren's experience useful for engine development”

The possibility of supplying its own Power Unit to top teams such as McLaren and Red Bull is a source of great motivation for Renault. The Managing Director Cyril Abiteboul is aware that satisfying customers of this caliber will not be easy, but this does not scare the French team, on the contrary it doubles its incentives: “I think there are more positives than negatives in these partnerships: It will be a challenging season, but interesting to manage” – said Abiteboul ad Motorsport. “This is a challenge, which provides motivation to everyone. There is clearly pride in supplying engines to other great teams and their fantastic drivers.".

Furthermore, Abiteboul explained that the experience in the Circus of McLaren will be fundamental for the development of the Power Unit: “Also, I think McLaren has great experience: I think that can show us how to push our engine to the maximum, as well as showing us new ways to have a winning package. Frankly I can't wait to get started: it's nice to be in a competitive environment, but it's also nice to be challenged".
