F1 | Abiteboul: “Alonso is probably the most complete driver in the world”

For Cyril Abiteboul, Formula 1 is now a world away. The French manager is committed body and soul to the World Rally Championship, where he holds the role of team principal of Hyundai. But at the same time Abiteboul, interviewed by the Spanish newspaper AS, discussed some of the riders he had the opportunity to work with. These include Fernando Alonso and Carlos Sainz.

He gave positive opinions on both, but speaking of the current Aston Martin standard bearer he underlined the qualities that allow the latter to be the most complete driver in the motorsport universe.

“They are very involved, professional, disciplined and very rational drivers – declared Abiteboul – At the same time they are Latino and I have a good connection with that kind of people. Carlos impresses with his attention to all the details, especially the mechanical part of the car, as if he were an engineer, and has contributed to improving the car since he was at Toro Rosso. Fernando needs no introduction. He is probably the most complete driver in the world and it is a joy to see him back at the top of Formula 1."
