F1 | Racing Point, Perez on the Zeltweg circuit: "Difficult to find the braking point"

The first Grand Prix of the 2020 season will take place on Sunday. After months of stopping due to the virus, we are finally ready to start. In Zeltweg there will be races for two consecutive weekends, it will be the first time in the history of Formula 1. Racing Point comes to this race as the favorite of the others, given its incredible resemblance to last year's Mercedes. The riders of the British team are optimistic for the inaugural race of the championship on a track loved by practically everyone.

“I raced in Austria for the first time in 2014, just a few years ago – Perez said. I haven't spent much time in Zeltweg and Spielberg away from the track, but I really enjoy visiting these kinds of places. It's unique, with beautiful scenery, you always feel surrounded by nature. It is also BWT's home race, they have supported us a lot over the years, so it will be important for us to have a good race. It's quite a demanding track: it's a short lap, every corner is complicated, so you have to be very precise, making sure every lap is perfect. It is very different from most of the tracks on the calendar: Turn 3 is one of the most fascinating challenges. It can be difficult to find the braking point, especially in traffic, but it's an interesting corner and one that I really enjoy.

“I love Austria, it's fantastic – commented Stroll. It feels like home: you're in the mountains, and I'm definitely a mountain person. I'm a big ski enthusiast and I love the fresh, open air life, here you can immerse yourself in this atmosphere thanks to all the spectacular landscapes of Austria. I love going there so much. It is a short and technical circuit, but with a lot of mileage. It's just over a minute a lap in qualifying, so every corner has to be taken perfectly. It's almost like a kart track, every detail of the lap and every hundredth of a second are important, all of this can make the difference for a position on the starting grid, and this makes it exciting."
