The hardest corner on the Shanghai International Circuit for the braking system is turn 14 where the single-seaters go from 318 km/h to 72 km/h in 2,66 seconds during which they travel 113 metres. The effort required from the drivers is also notable: 4,7 g is the maximum deceleration to which they are subjected and 174 kg is the load on the brake pedal that they must exert. The braking power is 2.450 kW.

Barrichello first Chinese dragon 

The first edition of the Chinese GP was in 2004, won by Ferrari thanks to Rubens Barrichello who took pole, while teammate Michael Schumacher started from the last row having not achieved any time due to a spin at the first corner. The Brazilian won and Schumacher finished 12th and lapped in one of the toughest weekends of his career. Two years later, however, the German got his revenge in China, winning his 91st and final GP, all won with Brembo brakes.

Guanyu Zhou is the only Chinese to have contested a Formula 1 GP. The twenty-four year old from Shanghai started in 48 GPs, enriched by two fastest laps, in 2022 in Japan and in 2023 in Bahrain. In qualifying, his best placing was 5th place at the 2023 Hungarian GP, ​​and 8th place in the race at the 2022 Canadian GP. However, the first Chinese to take part in a race weekend was Ma Qing Hua, at the Italian GP 2012 when he took part in free practice with HRT. In the 2014 Abu Dhabi GP, however, Fong Adderly took part in free practice with Sauber.
