F1 | Racing Point, Perez eleventh: “We couldn't have done more”

Difficult weekend for Racing Point, which failed to score even one point at Zeltweg. After yesterday's terrible qualifying, with both cars out in Q1, Perez and Stroll tried to make a comeback, and the Mexican came close to the top ten, but was unable to overtake Giovinazzi, who was ahead of him for much of the race. Sunday therefore to be canceled for the British team, which will race at home at Silverstone in two weeks. The Canadian, however, stabilized in fourteenth position, after various problems related to the power unit.

“Today we gave everything, but we just didn't manage to get into the points – Perez said. My start was good, but once I finished behind Giovinazzi I remained in that position practically for the entire race, trying to chase him and overtake him. There wasn't much difference between Soft and Medium in the first part of the race, in fact the strategies were very similar. We couldn't have done anything else: it's frustrating to finish in eleventh position, but we couldn't have done more."

“It was definitely not our best race – Stroll admitted. The first stint looked promising, I was chasing Hulkenberg and Perez, but we had some problems with the power unit, we had to manage it for about ten laps, and it cost us at least 5 or 6 seconds. I don't know what happened, but there were some problems with the fuel flow meter, so we went to lower revs, and this favored Ricciardo's overtaking. Difficult afternoon, now we focus on the team's home race at Silverstone."
