If the formula 1 he gave us a stingy year of satisfaction at home Ferrari the same thing cannot be said regarding covered wheels, particularly in the World Endurance. The return of the Cavallino team to the premier class of WEC in fact it gave Maranello an extraordinary success in the most important endurance race in the world: the 24 Hours of Le Mans. A triumph that Ferrari had not enjoyed since 1965, when the pairing of Jochen Rindt and Masten Gregory took the top step of the podium at the wheel of the 250 LM number 21.

In Trento, where the Sports Festival organized by La Gazzetta dello Sport is currently underway, the success of the 499P of crew number 51 made up of Alessandro Pier Guidi, Antonio Giovinazzi and James Calado.

“Less than a year after the 499P Shakedown we were able to win at Le Mans, a truly extraordinary result – he said Antonello Coletta, responsible for GT Ferrari Sports Activities – who enriched a season in which we had achieved pole position on our debut, on the Sebring track, and we got on the podium in all the races except Japan”.

Coletta then also recalled his return to Maranello in the weeks following the triumph: “A party that we wanted to organize for the benefit of all the company's employees and the citizens. A memorable day which saw the participation of many fans who came from all over Italy and beyond."

“Competing in endurance racing means sharing the car with two companions – explained Giovinazzi – This implies constant discussion between us drivers because every piece of information is fundamental for setting up the car and obtaining good results. In fact, among the strengths of our team is the good relationship that unites me, Alessandro and James, but also Antonio Fuoco, Miguel Molina and Nicklas Nielsen, our teammates in the number 50".
