WEC | Giovinazzi enjoys the victory in the 24 Hours of Le Mans: “Thanks to Ferrari who made all this possible”

Yesterday the Ferrari wrote a memorable page in the history of motorsport. The Maranello company has in fact returned to victory in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, in the season that marked its return to the premier class of the WEC. A success achieved by crew number 51, which has among its drivers an old acquaintance from Formula 1: Antonio Giovinazzi.

The driver from Martina Franca, who ended his experience in Alfa Romeo Racing at the end of 2021, effectively saying goodbye to the world of the Circus, has found a new professional life in the WEC where he has so far achieved notable results driving the Ferrari 499P.

“For me and Alessandro (Pier Guidi, ed.) it is an even more special feeling – declared Giovinazzi – We drove this car for the first time last July, having obtained this result, pole and victory, after just under a year , it's definitely fantastic."

Giovinazzi, completing his analysis, added: “It wasn't a given that we would have made it, but the whole team and my teammates did an excellent job, and here we are today. Thanks to Ferrari who made all this possible. We are back to winning after 50 years and we should be very proud of it."
